Reflection

  1.  My retirement in 2001 enabled me to pursue astrophysics in greater depth.
  2.
  3. That topic includes the study of light.
  4.
  5. We wouldn't be able to see stars etc if there were no reflection.
  6.
  7. Some telescopes depend on reflection.
  8.
  9. When it comes to mental self-reflection it is deceptively simple.
  10.
  11. It's the act of looking inward with the goal of understanding who you are, how you feel and where you are going.
  12.
  13. You can't turn TV or radio on these days without some guru of this and an expert in that all directed at wellbeing in its ever-widening and fanciful way.
  14.
  15. Were you to ask me whether I'd return to St Lukes in, say two years from now, the answer would be: I'll come and look around and talk to people.
  16.
  17. But it all depends on whether I'm invited.
  18.
  19. As I wandered around the premises, lonely as a hamster on an exercise wheel, I wondered how the long term patients coped.
  20.
  21. I thought about those TV programmes based on a trained volunteer (or perhaps a pro) equipped with hidden cameras etc recording this type of organisation as it is.
  22.
  23. While I still have plaster and pain, I wondered if a company might send me to observe its competition.
  24.
  25. My late wife (2017) inspired me to take on the war which exists where unpaid carers battle the gatekeeper NHS.
  26.
  27.  Dementia Meeting Centres here

Ross Dementia Meeting Centre - Home page here which I created.
  28.
  29.
  30. Unpaid carers include those who keep their mind on a favourite topic.  I chose putting it all on my websites and attending county resource departments and carer groups.
  31.
  32.  St Lukes has given me a vast amount of thought which may see the light of day.
  33.
  34. Working in fifteen countries within the context of tourism development ended in 2001.
  35.
  36. Here I have had contact with people from countries new to me in jobs new to me.

  37. All that within less than a week.
